Java Backend Developer

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Join a technology delivery context in the luxury goods sector, contributing to Java-based digital platforms and service integration. This opportunity is based in Lisbon, with a hybrid working model requiring three days on-site per week, and is intended for candidates already living in Portugal.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Develop and maintain Java microservices under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Implement REST and GraphQL APIs following established API documentation and standardization practices.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to quality gates across the delivery pipeline.
- Follow secure coding practices, coding standards and pull request processes using Git-based workflows.
- Support identity and access management integrations with guidance from senior peers.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including planning, daily meetings and retrospectives.
- Engage proactively in structured technical upskilling activities.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- At least 2 years of experience in backend development with Java.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Portuguese at C1 level.
- Ability to work in a supervised engineering environment while progressively increasing autonomy.
- Collaborative, responsible and solution-oriented mindset.
- Availability to work in a hybrid model in Lisbon, with three days on-site per week.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY

Base salary range: EUR 13,000 - EUR 21,000 gross/year
Total compensation: up to EUR 26,000/year
The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
