ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support data integration and engineering initiatives in the banking and financial services sector. This role focuses on designing, maintaining and optimizing ETL and ELT pipelines, supporting data warehouse and data lake environments, and collaborating with international teams and French-speaking stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Design, develop, test and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines.
- Ingest, transform and load data from multiple sources into data warehouses and data lakes.
- Configure and manage ETL tools to automate data integration processes.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation and loading.
- Create and maintain data models across ODS, staging and analytics layers.
- Implement data quality checks, data lineage and monitoring controls.
- Develop and maintain job orchestration using workflow scheduling tools.
- Monitor jobs, troubleshoot failures and implement retry strategies.
- Automate operational tasks using UNIX or Linux shell scripting.
- Develop reusable scripts for data processing, file management and system automation.
- Collaborate with data architects, data analysts and business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Optimize pipeline performance and scalability.
- Ensure security, data governance and compliance requirements are applied.
- Prepare technical documentation, runbooks and knowledge transfer materials.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- 6 to 9 years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL, ELT or data integration roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with ETL or ELT tools such as Semarchy, Stambia, Talend, DataStage or similar.
- Proficient SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts, ETL and ELT patterns, data quality, data lineage and metadata management.
- Experience with job orchestration or workload automation tools.
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux scripting for automation and data processing.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work with autonomy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Professional working proficiency in French at B2 level or above.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering or a related field.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and collaborative approach.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY

Base salary range: EUR 22 000 - EUR 32 000 gross/year
Total compensation: up to EUR 40 000/year
The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
