French Data Engineer

Data Engineer | Junior

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Data Engineer to support daily operations and continuous evolution within a data product environment in the banking sector. This role combines run activities, incident management and data transformation work, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform and enterprise data tooling.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Support the stability, continuity and optimization of existing data systems in collaboration with business and technical teams.
- Manage operational incidents, analyze root causes and contribute to remediation actions that reduce business impact.
- Implement data evolutions and specific components to improve data management, reporting and integration capabilities.
- Work with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery and Composer, to support data processing and orchestration activities.
- Build and maintain reporting and visualization assets using Power BI.
- Support data integration flows using tools such as SSIS, Python and SQL.
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements in coordination with the squad lead and stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative delivery, documentation and operational follow-up.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Up to 3 years of experience in data engineering, data integration, data operations or a similar data-focused role.
- Practical experience with cloud-based data environments and data transformation practices.
- Ability to work under coordination while progressively building autonomy in delivery and incident management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to operational continuity.
- Good communication skills to interact with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Professional working proficiency in French, minimum B2 level.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- Google Cloud Platform data services.
- BigQuery and cloud-based data management.
- Composer or comparable workflow orchestration tools.
- Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Power BI for reporting and visualization.
- SSIS or comparable ETL and ELT integration tools.
- Linux environments.
- Jira, Confluence and Agile delivery practices.
- Data modeling and data management tools such as PowerDesigner, DataGalaxy or Dataplex.
- Test management practices using tools such as Jira Xray.

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience in banking or another regulated environment.
- Knowledge of enterprise resource planning or portfolio planning tools such as Clarity.
- Familiarity with data product transformation initiatives.

COMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY

Base salary range: EUR 14,000 - EUR 17,000 gross/year
Total compensation: up to EUR 24,000/year
The salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements. Final compensation will be determined according to the candidate's profile and position requirements.
