What you can expect
Our client is a prominent financial marketplace operating across multiple countries in Europe. It facilitates the trading of various financial instruments such as stocks, derivatives, commodities, and exchange-traded funds.
What you will be doing
- Lead a team of 5+ developers in software development projects and translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
- Design resilient, scalable, and cost-effective end-to-end cloud solutions tailored to meet product specifications.
- Enhance team performance through regular one-on-one meetings, constructive feedback, and fostering individual growth.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure alignment with business requirements and meet project deadlines.
- Prioritize and facilitate the prompt resolution of client issues, ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, tools, and team collaboration.
- Conduct code reviews, contribute to critical feature designs, and uphold the overall quality of the team's deliverables.
- Identify technical debt and areas for improvement, ensuring they are adequately documented and considered when setting priorities.
- Implement a robust documentation system for knowledge sharing, onboarding, and communication within software development activities.
- Willingness to travel for collaboration with offshore teams.
What you will bring
- Hold a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Possess over 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development, including proficiency in the latest editions such as Spring Boot, and over 2 years of experience managing small software teams.
- Demonstrate expertise in DevOps practices, encompassing CI/CD pipelines, Gitflow, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), deployment patterns, and code quality tools.
- Exhibit extensive knowledge of AWS, Microservices architecture, design patterns, and proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Have a solid understanding of security best practices pertaining to APIs and data privacy.
- Display proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and a commitment to instilling Agile practices within the team.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to optimize the team's workflow.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
- Previous experience with frontend technologies such as React.js or Angular is highly advantageous.
- Additional knowledge of EU Market Abuse Regulation and EU Whistleblowing Directive is a plus.
