Modern Workplace Engineer

About the opportunity
We are looking for a Senior System Configuration Manager to join a telecommunications environment, focused on the architecture, setup, management and continuous operation of corporate endpoint and virtual desktop solutions. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience across Microsoft endpoint management, VMware/Omnissa and Microsoft 365 hybrid environments, with the ability to ensure secure, scalable and reliable workplace infrastructure.

What you will do

Design, build and maintain Windows base images, including drivers and standard software, for deployment to corporate devices.
Prepare and manage automated operating system deployment and upgrade processes using SCCM and Microsoft Intune.
Ensure periodic deployment of security fixes, updates and compliance controls across corporate endpoints.
Create, test and deploy software installation and update packages for corporate devices.
Manage software inventory, compliance and standardisation across the endpoint environment.
Support the setup, configuration and evolution of VMware/Omnissa virtual desktop solutions, including base images and desktop pools.
Monitor capacity, performance and hardware resources, ensuring stability and continuous improvement of the solution.
Provide advanced support, incident diagnosis and technical guidance related to workplace infrastructure and Microsoft environments.

What we are looking for

Senior-level experience in system configuration, endpoint management and workplace infrastructure.
Strong background in defining, setting up, managing and operating infrastructure solutions over time.
Solid experience with corporate Windows environments, automation, imaging, patching and compliance.
Ability to work with complex hybrid environments involving cloud and on-premises components.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation and problem-solving skills.
Collaborative mindset and ability to interact with technical teams and users.
Professional working proficiency in Portuguese.

Technical skills

Endpoint management: SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Windows image management, operating system deployment, patching, software packaging and compliance.
Virtual desktop infrastructure: VMware/Omnissa setup, base image configuration, virtual desktop pools, capacity management, performance monitoring and support.
Microsoft environments: Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Teams and OneDrive.
Hybrid infrastructure: installation, configuration and management of cloud and on-premises Microsoft environments.
Operations and support: incident diagnosis, infrastructure evolution, endpoint inventory, security fixes and technical documentation.

Nice to have

Availability to be based in Lisbon, with regular on-site presence.
Exceptionally strong technical profiles based in Porto may be considered, provided there is availability for monthly travel to Lisbon.
