About the opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join an automotive technology environment, contributing to the design, development and optimisation of scalable data solutions. In this role, you will build reliable data pipelines, reusable data products and governed data flows that support business and technical teams in turning complex data into meaningful, trusted outcomes.
What you will do
Design, implement and maintain data pipelines and transformations using Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse.
Develop reusable, high-performance data products across bronze, silver and gold data layers.
Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, including enterprise platforms and external systems.
Ensure data quality, lineage, documentation and compliance with governance and security standards.
Optimise data processing for scalability, performance and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with data architects, business analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Automate workflows, testing and deployment through CI/CD pipelines.
Contribute to standardisation, reusability and continuous improvement of data engineering practices.
What we are looking for
At least 5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer.
Strong understanding of modern data architectures and data lifecycle management.
Experience working cross-functionally with data, IT and business teams.
Solid knowledge of data modelling techniques and reusable data component design.
Experience with Agile and DevOps delivery approaches.
Strong ownership, reliability and accountability for data quality and delivery.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Technical skills
Programming and data processing: Python, PySpark and SQL.
Azure data platforms: Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Data Factory.
Data modelling: Data Vault, dimensional modelling and entity-relationship modelling.
Automation and DevOps: CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git and Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.
Data governance: Microsoft Purview, Databricks Unity Catalog or comparable metadata and lineage tools.
Data engineering practices: data quality, lineage, security, documentation, scalability and cost optimisation.
Nice to have
Professional working proficiency in Portuguese.
Databricks-related certifications.
