This role focuses on designing and delivering cloud-native data platforms, scalable pipelines and analytics-ready architectures within Microsoft-oriented ecosystems, supporting reliable data-driven decision-making across the organization.\n\nWHAT YOU WILL DO\n\n- Design and implement end-to-end data architectures covering ingestion, modeling, storage, orchestration and consumption layers.\n- Build, optimize and maintain cloud-native data pipelines with a focus on performance, reliability, cost efficiency and scalability.\n- Develop data warehouse and data lake solutions that support analytics, reporting and operational decision-making.\n- Apply DataOps practices, including CI\/CD pipelines, validation, monitoring, documentation and data lineage.\n- Analyze technical trade-offs, define clear engineering approaches and communicate decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n- Mentor less experienced engineers, promote engineering standards and contribute to a collaborative technical culture.\n\nWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR\n\n- At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, with relevant exposure to cloud-native solutions and data architecture.\n- Strong autonomy in complex technical delivery, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems into actionable implementation steps.\n- Professional working proficiency in English, with the ability to explain engineering decisions clearly and accurately.\n- Responsible, collaborative and solution-oriented mindset, with ownership of technical outcomes and continuous platform evolution.\n- Availability for a hybrid work model in the Lisbon area.\n\nTECHNICAL SKILLS\n\n- Cloud-native data engineering within Microsoft environments, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse.\n- Data architecture patterns covering ingestion, modeling, storage, orchestration and layered architectures such as Medallion.\n- Data warehousing and data lake technologies, including Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake and comparable cloud data platforms.\n- Python, SQL and Spark for data processing, transformation and pipeline development.\n- Relational and NoSQL databases, including MS SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, ElasticSearch or comparable technologies.\n- DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI\/CD, monitoring, documentation, validation and data lineage.\n- Pipeline and storage optimization for performance, cost control, reliability and maintainability.\n\nNICE TO HAVE\n\n- Experience with AWS or Google Cloud data services and comparable tools.\n- Knowledge of platforms such as BigQuery, Amazon Redshift or similar analytics-oriented cloud data solutions.\n\nCOMPENSATION TRANSPARENCY\n\nBase salary range: EUR 22,000 - EUR 32,000 gross\/year\nTotal compensation: up to EUR 40,000\/year\nThe salary range is based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including required competencies, professional experience, level of responsibility and role requirements.
